Kadak Chai is a strong, flavourful style of Indian tea that’s brewed with bold black tea leaves, milk, sugar, and aromatic spices like cardamom and cinnamon. The word “Kadak” means “strong” in Hindi/Urdu, and this tea lives up to its name—it’s thicker, creamier, and more intense than regular chai.
It is simmered for a longer time than usual chai, allowing the spices and tea leaves to fully infuse, creating a rich taste and deep aroma. Often enjoyed in small glasses or cups, Kadak Chai is especially popular at roadside tea stalls (chaiwalas) across India, Pakistan, and the Middle East, where it’s a favourite for early mornings, work breaks, or late-night gatherings.
